Destination Unknown

I have studied for thirty years consciousness, soul, afterlife. beliefs, enlightenment and so on…Still looking for the most probable focus to take on death and the journey beyond. Of course living in the Now and appreciating being in the body vehicle is paramount, but maybe is is just curiosity of the unknown. I was watching a program on the afterlife with all the usual commentators but it was one that I hadn’t seen. This one woman told of her near death experience that was just extraordinarily beautiful. She said she became a point of light, she went through a light tunnel that came into a place with many, many other points of light, She said she felt secure, peaceful and loved. I cannot recall all the specifics but it was reassuring. Another part of the program spoke of the Tibetan Book of the Dead which I have tried to read a number of times but haven;t, so I cannot confirm what they said… I am sure this is their own interpretation but the commentator said the book says to focus on a wormhole at death to escape the Wheel of Samsara and the cycle of rebirth. I have studied many systems with guided meditations and journeys and things along these lines. I found that interesting in concept. I know that being conscious when you sleep is a daily practice to be conscious when you die but probably easier said than done.

  1. Interesting thoughts… not sure I would want to escape rebirth to be honest…

…and on a completely different note, that image looks like the wibbly-wobbly time-wimey-vortex tunnel at the start of Doctor Who. I’m curious to know where the TARDIS is 🙂

  2. LOL I haven’t seen Dr. Who since David Tennant left as the Dr. I was just looking and there has been three seasons since…wow.

So you would choose to stay on the karmic cycle of death and rebirth? Interesting.

  3. to me I think that heaven is a state as opposed to a physical place-our beliefs on earth plane will factor in as to where we find ourselves at moments after death where we will reside until we move into higher plane; so if its Heaven and Hell you believe in you will experience this “place” until You realize that you can move onto higher planes..
